Chemical producer 3M from Zwijndrecht was fined 7,500 euros at the end of last year for excessively high PFOS concentrations in discharged rainwater. This was confirmed by the Antwerp public prosecutor's office and the Department of Environment. The violation of the standard for PFOS occurred in 2019. The company has since complied with the obligation to purify the rainwater in such a way that there are no more effects on the environment.
