15.06.2021 | PFOS protest: un œuf = un œuf

1,000,000. That's how many people live within a 15-kilometre radius of the 3M site in Zwijndrecht. Do they hear all those voices, there in Brussels?

On Wednesday 16 June, the Flemish Parliament will vote on the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry committee into PFOS pollution. The establishment of such a committee is an important first step in clarifying this dossier.

Several politicians from the opposition, but also from the majority, have already spoken out in favor of setting up such a commission. To ensure that they do not go back on their words, we call on all those concerned about PFOS pollution to come together on the eve of the vote.

As a symbol of our fight, we ask everyone to bring the eggs that we can no longer eat due to PFOS contamination. Write a message on them – preferably after you have boiled them – for your representatives in the Flemish Parliament. On Tuesday you will have the chance to “lay your egg” with us, after which we will pass on all messages to representatives in the Flemish Parliament.

This manifestation is just a first action in which we make our voices heard. The past decades have shown that only alert citizens will ensure that the root of this problem is tackled. Grondrecht is committed to this, but needs your support. So start by following us on Facebook, where we will keep you informed about this dossier and our activities. In addition, you can also commit to Grondrecht, an organization that runs entirely on volunteers. You can find all information about this on our Facebook page. Will you help us to get to the bottom of this dossier?

We care about your health and the environment. That is why we call on everyone to also comply with the COVID measures during the demonstration and to leave the meadow clean.
