The contamination with the non-biodegradable chemical PFOS in Zwijndrecht, which came to light due to the Oosterweel works, set a ball rolling that has already led to precautionary measures in Mechelen, Willebroek and around every fire brigade training ground. PFOS is also present in almost all waterways. The list of 'risk locations' promises to become increasingly longer. All mayors have received an overview of potentially contaminated locations, with the request to check them. We already know these locations.
