The PFAS coalition today submits the final conclusions for its environmental injunction in the Oosterweel file. The coalition fears a reckless restart of the earthworks with contaminated PFAS soils and therefore asks the court, by invoking article 159 of the Constitution, to assess whether the permit for the 'safety berm' in particular is lawful.
The clean-up agreement announced by Environment Minister Zuhal Demir is a step forward in making polluter 3M pay, according to citizen collective Grondrecht, environmental activist Thomas Goorden, Bond Beter Leefmilieu and Greenpeace. But that is not the end of the story.

Earlier today, the Council of State suspended the declaration of conformity of the Technical Report for the Oosterweel works on the Left Bank. In its ruling following a UDN claim filed by Grondrecht, Greenpeace and Thomas Goorden, the Council states that provisions of the VLAREBO may have been violated. During the hearing, the auditor was also very critical of the construction of a berm with the most heavily polluted soils on the 3M site.
