What is worse: illegally dumping chemical waste in the Scheldt or legally dumping chemical waste in the Scheldt? This question arises now that the illegal discharge of FBSA in the Scheldt by 3M has been restricted, while the chemical plant is still allowed to discharge very large quantities of PFBS into the Scheldt. Both can be seen as chemical substances that may pose very serious risks to public health and the environment.
