ATV: PFOS pollution: lawsuit against Lantis not until the end of November

This morning in Antwerp the lawsuit was initiated that citizens' initiative Grondrecht together with environmental activist Thomas Goorden and Greenpeace filed against Oosterweel developer Lantis. It was decided to start pleading the case on 25 November.

The judge therefore does not impose any precautionary measures on Lantis. The three claimants requested, among other things, that all remediable and non-remediable soils be covered immediately to prevent further spread of the PFOS pollution. Grondrecht and Greenpeace find the way in which Lantis deals with the PFOS pollution inadequate. But due to the large number of intervening parties, the case will not start until the end of November. In addition to Lantis and the Rinkoniën contractor group, the company 3M, the city of Antwerp, the municipality of Zwijndrecht and the Flemish Region were also present.
