Earlier today, the Council of State suspended the declaration of conformity of the Technical Report for the Oosterweel works on the Left Bank. In its ruling following a UDN claim filed by Grondrecht, Greenpeace and Thomas Goorden, the Council states that provisions of the VLAREBO may have been violated. During the hearing, the auditor was also very critical of the construction of a berm with the most heavily polluted soils on the 3M site.

Grondrecht, a citizens' collective started in response to the PFOS problem in Antwerp, had blood taken from 10 people (9 from Zwijndrecht and 1 from Linkeroever) and measured for PFAS values. The blood measurements (serum) were carried out at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam under the supervision of prof. Jacob de Boer.

We are writing to you because we are concerned about the pollution of our city with PFOS and the consequences for the health of all Antwerp residents. But we are writing to you mainly because we have the impression that at 't Schoon Verdiep, in contrast to outside, there is still no sense of urgency about this problem.
