The first day of the trial against developer Lantis will not take place until 25 November. Grondrecht and Greenpeace had taken Lantis to court because, according to the claimants, the company is not taking sufficient measures to limit the PFOS pollution during the Oosterweel works. The city of Antwerp, the municipality of Zwijndrecht, the Flemish region and 3M have now decided to participate in the trial as interested parties. "We will now have to fight hard against the mountain of paperwork and lawyers that will be thrown at our heads," says citizen activist Thomas Goorden.
